Tim Channon

Tim is a Consultant in our Insurance & Health team and is based in the Sydney office.

Tim specialises in most areas of insurance, including:

• Public liability
• Product liability
• Property
• Directors’ and Officers’ liability
• Policy drafting

With over 30 years’ experience Tim broad insurance practice has encompassed most aspects of insurance law, including advising domestic and international insurers on a range of indemnity and policy interpretation issues. Tim has acted in a number of high-profile insurance disputes including Sagacious Legal v Wesfarmers and Mobis Parts Australia Pty Ltd v XL Insurance SE.

Tim was recognised for his expertise in Product Liability Litigation in the 2017 and 2019 editions of Best Lawyers.

Tim holds a Bachelor of Law (Honours), a Bachelor of Arts and a Doctor of Juridical Science. He is an NSW Law Society Accredited Specialist in Commercial Litigation (Insurance) and a Nationally Accredited Mediator. Additionally Tim is an adviser on the LexisNexis NSW Personal Injury service and a regular presenter of papers for Legalwise, UNSWCLE, College of Law CLE and UTS CLE.
