Before joining Barry.Nilsson. as a vacation clerk in 2018, and later being offered a graduate role, Samuel worked in the External Dispute Resolution department of a top 20 ASX-listed financial services firm. He was responsible for resolving disputes referred to the Financial Ombudsman Service (as it was then known) by the firm’s clients.
Through Samuel’s involvement in the Barry.Nilsson. graduate program he has gained exposure to a range of the firm’s insurance clients, “I enjoy the variety of work these clients offer; it encourages me to never get complacent and to bring my most inquisitive mindset to all the problems I’m asked to solve.”
"Given my work experience, I understand that it’s always important to keep in mind the real-world, commercial factors our clients must consider and keep them at the front of our minds. I also understand that no two matters are ever quite the same – you have to have an eye for detail to get the best possible result for your client."
Samuel has supported Senior Lawyers in preparing presentations for clients and has contributed to BN’s WCompFiles and Case Collective publications.
Samuel holds a Bachelor of Laws (First Class Honours), and a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from Queensland University of Technology.
