Nathan Lawler is a solicitor in our Insurance & Health team, having joined the Brisbane office in 2015.
Nathan has particular interest in medical negligence, using his science background to assist in understanding the intricate nature of claims.
‘My chosen major for my Bachelor of Science degree was Biomedical Science, as part of which I completed a sub-specialty in Immunology and Infectious Diseases. That knowledge is particularly helpful when handling medical negligence claims, especially those brought against hospitals.’
His other areas of expertise are:
- Professional indemnity
- Public and product liability, including motor vehicle recovery files, personal injury and claims against local authorities and mining companies
Nathan has experience acting in large scale class actions. He also enjoys exploring the latest technology trends, such as cyber technology and drones, and their impact on the insurance industry.
‘As a solicitor in the Insurance & Health team I continue to be exposed to new opportunities and greater responsibility. I enjoy the diversity that working in Insurance provides.’
Nathan’s clients include numerous national insurers in the areas of government, professional indemnity and public liability insurance. He also acts for local insureds, including Queensland public and private hospitals and mining companies.
‘I work with a range of insurers and insureds who are incredibly knowledgeable in their given field. They are always available and are diligent and open in their thoughts, discussions and instructions.’
Nathan has a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) and a Bachelor of Science (Biomedical Science), as well as a Masters of Laws in Negotiation and Dispute Resolution. He is a member of the Queensland Law Society, Australian Professional Indemnity Group (APIG) and Young Insurance Professionals.
