Nathan Buck is a senior associate in our Insurance & Health team and is based in the Sydney office.
‘Prior to joining Barry.Nilsson., I worked for a number of mid-tier and top-tier firms where I worked on a variety of insurance matters, as well as several class actions. I’ve also held legal and policy roles in the Department of Immigration and Border Protection and acted as an advisor to a federal member of parliament. As a result, I have an interest in administrative law, immigration and refugee law, as well as human rights.’
Nathan specialises in professional indemnity and public liability.
‘I enjoy the diversity of the cases we deal with at Barry.Nilsson. I think clients appreciate that I take a very commercial and pragmatic approach to the matters on which I work. I enjoy strategising with claims managers to find the best possible solutions, especially in difficult cases. Eventually, I hope to specialise in some of the more interesting areas within insurance law, including cases with a public policy aspect, such as inquests and inquiries, as well cases that involve cross-jurisdictional issues.’
Nathan has a Bachelor of Laws (Honours), a Bachelor of International Studies and a Masters of Globalisation.
