Meredith Lyons

Meredith is a Senior Associate in our Insurance and Health team and is based in the Sydney office.

Meredith specialises in:

• Public liability
• Personal injury
• Policy coverage

Meredith has acted for various professionals including accountants, real estate agents, financial planners, mortgage originators and design and construct contractors. She also advises insurers on policy construction and indemnity issues.

Prior to joining BN in 2021, Meredith worked at a not-for-profit organisation where she assisted the Director, Legal in advising on the organisation’s legal, regulatory, insurance and compliance duties and obligations. She also worked at a top-tier international law firm managing public liability and professional indemnity claims.

In addition to her private practice and not-for-profit sector experience, Meredith spent over 10 years as a claims consultant at three of Australia’s leading insurance companies and an insurance broker. This included managing a portfolio of insurance claims within the Financial & Professional lines division, on behalf of insured clients, at an international broker and risk adviser. As part of her role, Meredith provided insureds with strategic and technical advice throughout negotiations with insurers.

Meredith holds a Master of Law and Legal Practice and is a member of the NSW Law Society.
