Lisa is a Senior Associate in our Insurance and Health team and is based in our Brisbane office.

Lisa specialises in:

  • Medico-legal litigation
  • Coronial inquests
  • Statutory complaints and practitioner disciplinary matters
  • Capacity and guardianship matters

Lisa also has an interest in human rights law and its intersection with Health Law, particularly given the recent introduction of the Human Rights Act 2019 (Qld). She also has a particular interest in legal and ethical issues which arise from emergency medicine and health matters involving questions of consent and capacity.

Lisa recently undertook a secondment in the legal department of a large tertiary public hospital and gained invaluable experience during this time. She has more than six years of multinational legal experience across various practice areas and jurisdictions. Prior to joining BN, Lisa worked for the UK Government Legal Department, in the Ministry of Defence litigation team leading a range of disputes, including personal injury, medical negligence, bullying and harassment, sexual assault, unlawful arrest and detention, crown and state immunity and coronial inquests. She also worked for several years in a top ranking London law firm primarily practising in human rights, administrative law and immigration law. Before relocating to London, Lisa worked in a national law firm in litigation and prior to that as a Judge’s Associate.

Lisa is committed to providing pro-bono legal services and volunteers regularly through the Human Rights Legal Clinic in partnership with Queensland Advocacy Incorporated (QAI).
