Jason Hart

Jason is a Principal in our Insurance & Health team and is based in the Perth office.

Acting for Australian and UK based underwriters and their insureds, Jason provides dispute resolution and coverage advice in the following areas:

• directors and officers
• management liability
• public liability

‘Insurers are sophisticated litigants who value pragmatism and commercial decision making. That suits me because that is how I like to practice. We provide commercial solutions to legal problems in order to minimise exposure for the insurer and allow the insured to continue focusing on its core business.’

Jason has extensive experience representing accountants, architects, company directors and officers, electrical contractors, engineers, finance brokers, financial advisors, mining companies and contractors, real estate and settlement agents, various medical practitioners and many others in claims involving professional negligence, contractual disputes, defamation, copyright infringement, unfair and misleading trade practices and directors’ liability. He also has experience defending prosecutions for breaches of occupational health and safety legislation for various companies and individuals. Jason’s exposure to a broad range of industries has given him a strong understanding of various sectors of the economy and different fields of business.

Jason also provides dispute resolution and coverage advice in the in relation to public liability (including bodily injury, employment, institutional advice and property damage) and property (first party and subrogated recovery) claims.

Jason is an experienced litigator having acted in disputes in all Western Australian jurisdictions and in other State and Commonwealth jurisdictions as well as domestic and statutory tribunals.

Jason has been recognised as one of Western Australia's Recommended Professional Indemnity Lawyers in the 2021-2023 editions of Doyle's Guide.

Jason has a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Commerce. He is a member of the Law Society of WA.
