Bill Conor is a Special Counsel in our Insurance & Health team and is based in the Adelaide office.
‘I began my career as a solicitor in a mid-sized commercial litigation and insurance firm. I was fortunate to be given the responsibility of running litigation in the South Australian courts quite early on in my career, which was invaluable in sharpening my skills as a litigator. I then moved to a boutique insurance firm specialising primarily in defendant public and professional liability actions.’
Bill specialises in:
- Financial lines
- Directors’ and officers’ liability
- Property damage
- Business interruption
- Construction claims.
‘I have a particular interest in multi-party public liability and professional indemnity matters involving complex factual scenarios. Such actions invariably involve preparing complex pleadings and other court documents. I have the drafting skills and incisiveness, as well as an eye for detail, that enable me to assist clients involved in complex disputes.’
Bill has a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and a Masters of Laws from the University of Adelaide. While completing his post-graduate degree, he took an advanced course in insurance law, which nurtured his interest in technical indemnity disputes. In 2019 Bill was listed as a Recommended Professional Indemnity Lawer by Doyles Guide.
‘I enjoy the high quality insurance work that I am involved with at Barry.Nilsson. I find that I’m often able to use both my legal knowledge and industry experience to solve technical as well as commercial issues, which is rewarding.’
