Annaliese is a Solicitor in BN’s Sydney-based Insurance & Health team.
Annaliese acts for both local and international insurers and their insureds, and has proven experience in defending professional indemnity, public liability and protective actions claims. She has experience in defending litigated proceedings in the NSW Local, District and Supreme Court, and complaints made to various commercial and government organisations. Having worked in-house as well, Annaliese also has experience advising internal clients on liability for large-scale projects and smaller claims.
Annaliese advises and prepares submissions for a broad range of professional clients in litigated actions commenced in Australian jurisdictions, particularly health practitioners subject to complaints made to the Health Care Complaints Commission and the Medical Indemnity Protection Society.
Prior to joining BN in 2019, Annaliese worked in the insurance division of a mid-tier Sydney law firm. Annaliese’s extensive experience in defending personal injury claims and advising on regulatory matters gives her a unique perspective on the concerns held by professionals in indemnity claims and the means by which to consistently and solidly defend these claims.
“I approach litigation in from a client-centric perspective, particularly focusing on the commercial needs of my clients. I work with my clients and their insureds to achieve an agreed approach based on a holistic understanding of the claim."
Annaliese has a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Arts (International Relations). She is a member of the Australian Insurance Law Association, Young Insurance Professionals, NSW Claims Discussion Group, Law Society of NSW and NSW Young Lawyers.
