Anna Clarke is a senior associate in our Insurance & Health team. She joined Barry.Nilsson. in 2006 and is based in the Brisbane office.
Anna’s areas of expertise are:
- Public liability, including occupiers’ and product liability
- Complex property damage claims
- Policy issues
Anna has acted in a number of complex multi-party disputes involving issues of contractual indemnity and dual insurance. She also acted in a matter involving questions of policy interpretation that went to the High Court.
‘Since joining Barry.Nilsson. I have been lucky enough to be exposed to many aspects of insurance litigation. A particular area of interest for me now is large scale property matters.’
Anna acts for both insurers and self insureds, including acting directly for a number of large corporations.
‘There are many reasons why I enjoy my work. Particular highlights are the diversity of the matters I act in, the exposure to new and complex issues and the relationships that have been formed with colleagues and clients. I also enjoy the evolving nature of litigation and having the opportunity to think and act creatively to achieve good outcomes for my clients with whom I have worked to establish an ongoing relationship, so that they know they can rely on my advice.’
Anna has a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Arts. She is a member of Women in Insurance and the Australian Insurance Law Association (AILA).
