Allison Caputo is Special Counsel in our family law team, having joined Barry.Nilsson.’s Brisbane office as a lawyer in 2014.

Allison specialises in all aspects of family law encompassing:
- Complex parenting and property disputes
- Financial support matters including spousal maintenance and child support
- Domestic violence
"No two matters are the same. Every client brings with them a unique history and that means that each matter must be approached individually. I have had experience in assisting clients through complex parenting and property disputes. Practising in family law allows me to meet and work with people from all walks of life and I enjoy the process of assisting them to find a resolution so they can move on to the next chapter in their lives."
Allison has a Bachelor of Arts Degree and Diploma in Law. Allison completed the Master of Applied Law (Family) and was admitted as a Graduate Fellow of the College of Law. She has attained Specialist Accreditation in Family Law from the Queensland Law Society. Recently Allison commenced a Graduate Diploma in Applied Tax Law.
Allison is a member of the Family Law Practitioners Association of Queensland, the Family Law Section of the Law Council of Australia, the Queensland Law Society, Women Lawyers Association of Queensland and the Tax Institute of Australia.
In 2017 Allison was recognised by Doyle's Guide as a Rising Star in Family Law, and in 2020 Allison was elected as council member of the Queensland Law Society.
