Insurance Law Principal, Melanie Quixley, Awarded National Honour for Excellence in Client Service
Thursday, 14 October 2021
Leading Insurance & Health Law Principal, Melanie Quixley, has today been named the exclusive winner of the 2021 Client Choice Award in the Insurance category for Australia. This is the second time Melanie has received this award, having taken out the title in 2018.
The Client Choice Awards recognise solicitors and firms from around the world that stand apart for the level of client care they provide and the quality of their service. Criteria focuses on an ability to add real value to clients’ businesses above and beyond others in the market. Uniquely, firms and solicitors can only be nominated by corporate counsel.
This year the Client Choice Awards received over 2,500 nominations. Shortlisted candidates were invited to submit up to five client referees who were then asked to rate the candidates on a range client service criteria, including quality of advice, commercial awareness, industry knowledge, strategic thinking, responsiveness, and more. The strength of this feedback is what ultimately led to Melanie being named the exclusive winner for Insurance in Australia.
Congratulating Melanie on her win, Barry.Nilsson.'s Lead Insurance Principal, Rhett Kennedy, said it reflected Barry.Nilsson.'s commitment to investing in a culture that supports building teams of outstanding people who give the firm its competitive edge.
"Melanie is a longstanding and well regarded principal of the firm, and continues to contribute to the ongoing success of our national Insurance & Health Law practice."
“Melanie goes above and beyond to provide the highest level of service to her clients and the industry, and we're thrilled to see her hard work, dedication and expertise recognised by the industry in this way."
Melanie is experienced in advising on and managing claims in the areas of policy coverage and first party claims, public liability including personal injury, property damage and product liability, as well professional indemnity claims arising from construction losses and pure economic loss. She manages a wide portfolio of personal injury claims including claims for catastrophic injury and loss of dependency.
In addition to her Client Choice recognition, Melanie has been listed in Best Lawyers for Insurance Law, Personal Injury Litigation and Product Liability Litigation. She has also been recognised as a Leading Public & Product Liability and Professional Indemnity Lawyer in Doyle's Guide. Melanie is the Vice President of the National Board of the Australian Insurance Law Association (AILA), and is the past President of the Queensland chapter.
