Family Law Principal Family Law Principal

Family Law Principal

Established for more than 50 years, Barry.Nilsson. is a national law firm currently comprising over 250 staff and having a reputation for excellence within its three areas of expertise: insurance & health, property & commercial and family law.  We pride ourselves on our values and our culture and a good example of this is that all full-time staff have every second Friday afternoon off.

As part of our national expansion, our Sydney office opened its doors in 2014 and since then has grown to over 30 staff members. Currently the office has a strong defendant insurance offering, however we've identified the opportunity for another high level family law operator to enter the Sydney market and we are therefore on the lookout for a Family Law Principal to join us in doing that.

Barry.Nilsson. is widely recognised as a leading firm within the family law community and was named as a 'First Tier' family law firm, the highest level for any family law firm in Queensland, in the 2017, 2016, 2015 and 2014 Doyle's Guide to Family Law firms. The section is headed up by 5 highly respected Principals across Brisbane and Melbourne and is recognised in the industry for providing quality advice, outcomes and service. The department handles a broad range of complex and challenging work for high net worth individuals – we don't undertake any legally aided matters.

We are currently seeking a Family Law Principal with a minimum of 8 years experience to establish the Sydney arm of our Family Law practise. Ideally the successful candidate will bring their own file load with them or at the very least, a strong network of referrers. Specialist Accreditation in Family Law will be highly regarded. The successful applicant will be given a large amount of autonomy and independence in the role and will also have the full support of the principals to grow and develop the family law area.
