Kylie Powell

Kylie Powell joined the Brisbane office as an article clerk in 2005. She is now a Special Counsel in our Insurance & Health team.

Having practised insurance law for over 10 years, Kylie’s particular areas of expertise are:

• Public liability (personal injury and property damage)
• Subrogated recovery claims in relation to property and vehicle damage

‘I enjoy being exposed to a wide variety of matters in my practice. I am part of a great team at Barry Nilsson and the firm has a very positive and supportive culture.’

Kylie acts predominantly for insurance companies and has undertaken two secondments with one of the firm’s biggest clients.

‘At Barry Nilsson I am lucky to work with clients who have a good understanding of the litigation process and their individual claims. Having worked for a number of my clients over several years, I have been able to develop strong partnerships with them.’

Kylie has a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) and Bachelor of Applied Science (Biotechnology). She is a member of the Queensland Law Society.
