Gillian Sheppard

Gillian has practised exclusively in insurance law throughout her career, specialising in professional indemnity and policy coverage.

Gillian acts on behalf of local and international insurers for a broad range of professions, including solicitors, building and construction professionals, medical professionals, educational institutions, and financial advisers.

‘I like the fact that my clients are engaged and have a genuine interest in resolving claims. They don’t just care about the final result in terms of their bottom line, they also care about the insured's involved.’

Gillian has extensive experience defending professional indemnity claims and responding to complaints made against professionals to tribunals and registration boards. She also has experience in employment practices liability, discrimination and human rights matters, including claims, investigations, inquiries and complaints. Gillian brings in-house perspective from her time working in the UK Claims Operation PI team of a global insurer.

Gillian values the opportunity to support clients during challenging times when their professional career may be at risk, and she is known for her considered and pragmatic approach to complex professional indemnity matters.
